Give Young Photographers a Chance
Organized by: Peter Quinn
This fundraiser's objective is to urge supporters to back the Young Photographers Alliance, an organization dedicated to mentoring youths in the world of photography.
Everywhere in the US, youths take thousands, if not millions, of selfies each day. While some people may look at the new generation with disdain, let's not forget that there too are aspiring photographers among our children.
All hope is not lost. it is not unlikely to find youths honing their talents such as one very impressionable boy by the name of Hawkeye Huey. Only six years old, little Hawkeye started delving into his passion in photography after his photographer dad gifted him an Instax camera. From then on, the besotted lad dove headlong into the photography industry. Under the tutelage of his dad, he became National Geographic's youngest photographer and has even published his own book, thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign.
We understand that not every youth has the guidance of a father who was an award winning photographer, but we can still give young aspiring photographers at chance by honing their talents under the guidance of mentors at Young Photographers Alliance. The mentorship program will help guide youths to be so much more than just selfie takers. It takes more than just being able to take selfies without selfie stick to appreciate photography, and the Young Photographers Alliance can help achieve that.
