On July 18th and 19th, Give-A-Ball Foundation teamed up with J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO), a Haiti-based organization to host the Give-A-Ball Journey Program, which entails a series of soccer clinics and tournament-style games in Port-au-Prince. The transformational event offered 150 girls and boys, aged 8 to 14 years old, the opportunity to engage in team-oriented sports, while building and improving their athletic skills, in addition to reinforcing fundamentals vital to their development. Each event participant left the activities receiving a brand-new soccer ball and a Give-A-Ball t-shirt. Give-A-Ball Foundation also donated portable soccer goals and other field equipment to J/P HRO, a local middle school, and a local orphanage.
While our efforts were successful to provide 175 soccer balls and over 300 pieces of gear and equipment for children in Port-au-Prince, many children in Haiti still do not have the access or opportunity to participate in sports. Give-A-Ball Foundation is dedicated to empower more children in Haiti through soccer. The organization will continue the partnership with J/P HRO to support in bringing sustainable soccer programs for children in Haiti. As plans are in the works for 2014 activities, we need much support to gather and transport soccer balls, t-shirts and field equipment for our program participants. Please make a generous donation to empower the children of Haiti through soccer. If you would like to volunteer or support in any way, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
