THE STORY:

We (Good Cop) would like to run a music workshop for the children of Joy Town Special School in Thika, Kenya. This project/workshop is called the “Give A Hand” project and takes its name from the albums title song.

The songs we will be recording have all been written by polio sufferer Patrick Kituku, a former student of Joy Town School. To achieve the greatest results from this project Good Cop have assembled a select team of people from the United Kingdom to execute this project. Peter Scatchard (Choir Master) from Sutton has experience of teaching choir to under privileged children in South Africa, Peter will be responsible for writing choir harmonies and teaching those harmonies to the choir at Joy Town School. Ian Campbell AKA Prince Jamo (Music Technician) is a reggae performer and producer from Birmingham, Jamo will be responsible for recording the musical elements and arranging them to produce the final album. Gavin Glover (Me) I am the project manager, I am responsible for the concept of this project and making sure it’s a success.

The Good Cop organization was set up to provide positive life experiences for people in under privileged situation through the use of arts, media and entertainment. The “Give A Hand” project is the first of a series of projects that will all be designed to show the positive effect that music and the arts can have on peoples lives with the added benefit of providing the participants with the means to raise funds for their own schools or communities.
