The Joan C. Dauber Food Bank at Saint Francis was the first hospital-based food bank in the nation. Established almost 40 years ago, the Food Bank provides families in the Greater Hartford Community with nutritious food, including fresh fruit and produce; diapers for babies; and a myriad of other vital services. Each month the Food Bank feeds 1,200 families which equates to 139 tons of food a year.
This Thanksgiving, the Food Bank will serve more than 1,600 families. During this special time of the year where people are in the “spirit of giving,” we are asking each of you to consider making a gift to support the Joan C. Dauber Food Bank. These gifts will go a long way in feeding families at Thanksgiving who would otherwise go hungry. Let’s make this a special holiday for our neighbors.
