Give Back to Our Teddie
Organized by: Teri Mott
In a Nutshell:
Teddie Barlow needs our support. It's time to give back to this exceptional person who has given us all so much. Diagnosed in February 2013 with colon cancer, our girl has been braving the horrible treatments, unreal expenses, and physical distress that are all a part of this fucked up disease.
Recently retired from Cowtown (her dream job) due to her illness, she is now facing extreme financial difficulty. She needs our support to cover expences until she begins to receive her retirment checks in late February/early March. I know you will want to join me in showing her some love.
Let's start with a $5,000 goal and hop like bunnies to get there. It's a tough time to give, I know, but if you can spare even $25, it would mean the world to me, and to our Teddie.
My friend Teddie Barlow has dedicated her life to other people. She is a loving mom and grandma, and a teacher who has inspired hundreds and hundreds of students of anthropology, sociology, and public speaking.
She has reviewed countless films as a senior programmer for Tallgrass Film Festival and is famous for her post-screening Q&As. As curator at Old Cowtown Museum, she shared her amazing creative energy with the public and her coworkers, giving new life to events and exhibitions there.
A devoted partner to her husband, Dillinger, she shares his wild dreams and has worked by his side to realize them through the Freaks & Floozies burlesque and vaudeville troupe.
A beloved member of the belly dance community; anthropologist and public historian; Mary Kay dealer; Steampunk fan and formerly employed at Boeing where she developed many lifelong friendships, Teddie has touched lives from every imaginably background here in Kansas and across the US.
The most caring friend imaginable, Teddie is truly my sister and she means the world to me.
Let's get this done. Please give today.
