Give Back to Pro MAXX

As you already know, Pro MAXX Fitness did not bill any of us for the month of September for either membership dues or personal training because Pro MAXX may be evicted on September 30th. There is still no progress on the negotiation of a lease agreement.

Essentially, the gym has stayed open and operated at an extreme loss in order to do right by its members and honor its agreements. As we all know, businesses that take such a loss are not able to remain open, regardless if progress is made either in negotiations or in court.

Pro MAXX provided a service to me for the month of September, and since they did not charge me for it, I found another way. I created this crowdfunding event to provide members like myself with a means of making good on our agreements as well.

If anyone wants to join me, it's completely voluntary. The owners of Pro MAXX are completely unaware, and in fact, they are opposed to receiving “charity.” They have not asked for it and may even attempt to give it back. But this is not charity; it is a well-deserved donation for services that were freely given by Pro MAXX and its employees and should have been paid for. (-plus there’s a neat little feature to make a contribution anonymous if we really don’t want them returning it)

The funds will be given to the staff to use at their discretion…they could use it for bills and/or employee payroll if the eviction proceedings take a while and they wish to remain open. Or for legal fees. Or even to help any staff members who have financial trouble because of this. No strings attached. There is no minimum or limit, just an initial goal of $40,000 because that’s ballpark what they would have made if they had charged in September. I’m sure any amount would help and any extra could be put to good use.
