BENEFITING: Water Charity
My current goal for this project is to raise $75 by April 24!!! Why?? Because access to clean water is vital and dirty water kills!!! It is hard to believe that there are still people who do not have access to our most basic resource: water or even if they do have access to it, it can cause them to get sick and have their lives cut short. In some places, children do not come close to reaching adulthood because everyday they drink or bathe in dirty water that will no doubt make them sick or give them diseases, but they have no choice, there is NO OTHER/CLEAN WATER! We can do a lot or a little to change that and a little goes a long way! Please help by spreading the word, joining the team, or donating what you can if you can!
Why giving clean and safe water matters:
According to the United Nations World Health Organization, every year there are 1.6 million diarrheal deaths related to unsafe water, sanitation, and hygiene—the vast majority among children under 5. More than one billion people lack access to an improved water source.
Of particular importance is Millennium Development Goal 7, which sets forth as a target “…the reduction by half of the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation.”
Water Charity pledges to have a significant impact on that target.
The technical solutions presently exist for the world to take immediate action to drastically improve the plight of people and communities that are without adequate water and sanitation.
A little about Water Charity:
The mission of Water Charity is to implement practical solutions to provide safe water, effective sanitation, and meaningful health education to those in need.
Water Charity is made up of volunteers, devoting substantially all of our time and personal resources to this endeavor. In contrast to large organizations, they spend everything that they receive on real projects on the ground.
They have projects going on right now to provide safe water in Haiti, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Panama, United States, and many more countries that need help the most!
Why you should donate:
The ability to impact on the problem of lack of safe water supply is basically about money. With adequate funding, the problem can be resolved.
Please do not let another human being die because he/she does not have access to our most precious and basic neccessity! This has to stop, so please be someone who takes action and help give safe water NOW before it's too late!!
Video credit to DRWaterCharity youtube.com. I did not make this video. It just gives you a closer look at what the water situation is like in one of the many countries WaterCharity helps, the Dominican Republic. There are many other countries with similar and even worse situations, so please take action!
