On any given night, there are more than 16,000 homeless in Detroit; one-third of these are children. COTS is here to provide hope, help and housing and to create opportunities to succeed. COTS' Family Emergency Shelter operates at capacity throughout the year, offering programs and providing services for more than 800 men, women and children daily.
COTS exists to alleviate homelessness by providing an array of services that enable people to achieve self-sufficiency and obtain quality affordable housing.
COTS offers its Passport to Self-Sufficiency(TM), which exists to assist families in reaching their housing economic, health, education, and career goals through coaching, mentorship and support as they strive to overcome homelessness and break the cycle of poverty for the next generation and beyond.
COTS also exists to advocate for long-term solutions to the problems of homelessness.
