Give Gary his life back
Organized by: Friends Of Gary Bergner
Gary is a husband and a father of two fantastic boys. He is also the brother of 2 beautiful sisters and 1 brother. Tragically he suffered a brain stroke & embulism during a surgery when he was 48 years old in 2009, leaving him unable to stand or walk, and his speech is severely impaired. Gary can't get out of bed independently, can't get to the toilet or bath, and can't get out of the house except by ambulance. His wife must provide 100% of his care. Gary's dream is to get from his bed into his wheelchair independently. In fact, with the appropriate modifications, Gary could get to his wheelchair, to the toilet, into the shower, and even out of the house, where he could access a handicap van for medical appointments and much needed therapies. Habitat for Humanity and some generous volunteers are willing to perform some of the work, but they need funding for materials and equipment. The Bergner's also have to install an $11,000 elevator, body lift and tracking system to get Gary out of his home. Gary's dreams are to get out of the house and spend time in the driveway with his boys, their cars and their motorcycles, go to a movie with his wife after 7+ years and perhaps have dinner with his entire family that loves him so much. He is 100% competent. Pease help us give Gary his life back. Please feel free to forward the link to friends, companies, organizations and families. Thanks again!!!!!!
