BENEFITING: GIVE HOPE FIGHT POVERTY
EVENT DATE: Mar 14, 2014
Swaziland, Africa has the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence in the world at over 42% HIV+. AIDS related deaths have left over 120,000 orphaned and vulnerable children which far exceed the number of potential caregivers. This has resulted in a child-headed household phenomenon where children, some as young as 12 years old, have become the heads of their households and forced to raise their younger brothers and sisters with no food, education, or adult support.
With your help, we can make real differences in the lives of these kids! This March, I will serve as a volunteer with Give Hope, Fight Poverty to:
Implement an emergency feeding program for orphans with food scarcity,
Create a picture-book library at Malindza Elementary School for orphans
Deliver much needed medical supplies to a rural clinic
Build a primary school in rural Malindza Village, and
Assist orphans of child-headed homes to ensure their basic needs are met.
I am so thrilled to serve my time, skills, and labor to a community of orphaned children struggling with poverty, HIV/AIDS, and illiteracy.
Any donation you are able to provide would be so incredibly appreciated.
By grace, Lacy
