BENEFITING: TAMPA JCC-FEDERATION INC
EVENT DATE: Aug 17, 2012
So, it's my 37th birthday. Yay me. To help me celebrate this accomplishment, maybe you were going to buy me a beer. Or take me to dinner. Or shower me with balloons. Or jump out of a cake. (that would have been kinda cool actually).
Or maybe you were going to do nothing. That would have been okay too.
But this year, inspired by the 2012 World Domination Summit, I want to give all that up. Instead of all that fanfare, this year I'm asking for something simple:
I am asking my friends and family to donate that money you would have spent - the $5 beer, the $12 dinner, the $4 Hallmark card, $8 in Mylar balloons, the $15 Wright's Alpine Cake (yum!) and instead, support a cause I care deeply about: the Tampa Jewish Community Center & Federation, which raises money for people in need, ensures that Jewish life remains vibrant and strong, and improves the quality of life for people in Tampa, in Israel and in over 70 countries around the world.
The slogan for this year's campaign: Together, We Do Extraordinary Things.
Let's do something extraordinary together, shall we?
I'm giving up my birthday and I'm pledging $800 this year to support the Tampa JCC & Federation. I'll give the first $50 here today to get things started. If you feel inspired to give, thanks!
And don't forget to check me out in my pretty cool party hat in the video below. ;-)
