Having worked a lot with people who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness, I've seen how devastating that is. I've also seen how few resources there are for homeless persons and how many good people are giving their time and energy to help the homeless. And so I decided to direct any donations for my ride to the RI Coalition for the Homeless.
Think about it this way: Without obligation from donations made on my behalf, how will I get up at 4:30 AM, schlep all the way to Bristol, take a bus to North Kingstown, and then bike 26 miles back?
Do it for the homeless. Do it for me. I need the exercise.
Also, I have been preparing in earnest.
