Shredding will commence!!

Let's give the gift of skateboarding to Kimberley, South Africa! I've collected 5 new skate decks, 3 sets wheels, and 3 sets bearing -- but I'm calling on the skateboarding community to help me ship this box of product to South Africa. We'd love your support and we're looking forward to exceeding our goal so we can buy even more skateboards to donate and ship internationally!
There's an amazing skatepark facility in the remote town of Kimberley, South Africa filled with dozens of local skateboarders. Although they have an amazing skatepark, proper skateboard equipment is not easy to come by. Help us exceed our goal so we can keep the locals of Kimberley, South Africa skating everyday!
Here's an article that sums up many of the benefits of skateboarding...for all the peeps out there that don't shred ;)
We all know the physical benefits of Skateboarding, actually we have written a previous blog on it but today we would like to touch base on the mental aspects. Skateboarding not only provides a positive outlet, it offers a sense of community and improves self-esteem. Skaters continually set goals for themselves, frequently changing the goals as they are met. Striving to land that new trick or developing their own unique style, sets Skateboarding apart from traditional sports. Landing new tricks and continually meeting goals, not only builds self-esteem but also provides a great example of how hard work, dedication and determination do pay off. What better way to show today’s youth that goals can be met and whatever you set your mind to can be accomplished. Skateboarding also provides a creative outlet that conventional sports do not. A skater is able to add their personality, their creativity and include that into their style and approach to Skateboarding. As they grow and cultivate their talent, they learn the importance of friendship, community and a sense of pride. These are important life skills that are difficult to teach but Skateboarding provides a natural progression of each. The sense of community is overwhelming at a Skatepark, young skaters being helped by the more experienced Skaters. Local youth observing, waiting and respecting all that are at the Skatepark. Skaters bring their own brooms and clean up tools with them, to make sure their park is in prime Skating condition. That sense of community, of ownership is unlike any other sport. Skateboarding promotes discipline, self-confidence, offers challenges and creative outlet while providing a physical activity to a nation that primarily leads a sedentary lifestyle. Yet there are more communities without a Skatepark then with one. For more information on how you can have a Skatepark in your local community please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have an example the health benefits of Skateboarding, we would love to hear it, please post your comments below.
