BENEFITING: PROJECT CONCERN INTERNATIONAL
EVENT DATE: Sep 07, 2013
I am using my dance recital as an opportunity to raise awareness for Project PRATIBHA – an initiative to provide technical assistance to India’s National AIDS Control Organization in order to increase the capacity of the network of public laboratories, an undertaking of Project Concern International (PCI). Instead of the traditional receiving of gifts to celebrate, I have decided to give back to PCI, an organization based in San Diego whose mission is to prevent disease, improve community health, and promote sustainable development worldwide. One of their goals is to strengthen the capacity of organizations in India and to empower local communities to significantly enhance and sustain their response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This program strategically pinpoints areas of opportunity and provides targeted assistance to mobilize, leverage resources for, and increase momentum for change.
