Seattle is in the midst of a homelessness crisis and there are many great organizations getting a lot of very high profile attention these days. You'll be asked to donate to one of these worthy organizations next time you buy a coffee at a store with a mermaid on the cup. But while this organization does great work getting families into an emergency shelter, what do they do to provide long-term stability for a family? What is the end game? Is this a solution or a reaction?
Wellspring is different. Wellspring not only helps family find stabile housing, they help family address the root causes of homelessness with a constellation of services. From free, trauma-informed preschool to rent assistance, from eviction prevention services to help families avoid homelessness to domestic violence intervention programs to help heal families in pain, from parenting services to help strengthen family bonds to help with basic needs like clothes and diapers, Wellspring does it all.
Wellspring uses a unique multigenerational, trauma-informed approach to not only help families experiencing homelessness survive, but thrive.

Full disclosure: I began working at Wellspring in August 2016. I'm choosing to support this organization because I believe in the mission and the work. This is not a requirement of my job. This is something I genuinely believe in.
