Giving back to Nepal
Organized by: Emma Jaqueth
Event Name: Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund
Nepal was devastate by a massive earthquake on April 25th. Many people have lost eveything and the whole world feels their suffering. This fundraiser will focus on providing resources such as clean up, food, medical aid, shelter and more to villages around Nepal.
UPDATE: It has been two weeks since the 7.8 magnitude earthquake. Although aid was quick to reach some areas such as Kathmandu and Gorkha, many other areas have recieved little or not aid. I am currently helping to create a village status report, a compilation of information about what each village needs according to first hand experiences. Many places still need food (rice and dahl) and shelter, so current donations will be going here.
As time progresses, people will begin to need more permanent structure, working sanitation systems, schools and various other infrastructure. This fundraiser will continue to run as relief changes from basic human needs to support of village life. Please continue to remember the help Nepal needs despite the dwindling media coverage.
Thank you for your support and namaste!
