Giving the Hungry H.O.P.E. Through Our New Mobile App
Organized by: Jensen Roll
We are H.O.P.E.- Helping Other People Eat, a 501C3 nonprofit started by students at Elon University with a desire to help those in need.
Two years ago, we embarked on a challenge to dramatically change the community we lived in. At the time, 19% of children in Alamance County were classified as food insecure, meaning they lacked access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. Through H.O.P.E., we fight this issue by providing sustainable financial support to local food pantries by connecting local food pantries with local restaurants.
After functioning for more than two years with paper donation slips, we are now ready to scale by building a mobile app! This app will process all donations and provide users with information on all H.O.P.E. Certified restaurants. Thus far, we have raised more that $10,000 which has gone directly toward fighting hunger. In hopes of seeing continued growth in the future, we are asking for your help in raising the funding necessary to build the mobile app.
100% of donations raised through this CrowdRise will go directly toward the creation and implementation of the mobile app. In addition to the launching of our new logo, this exciting enhancement will enable our nonprofit to bring in more donations and further increase the awareness of food insecurity.
Any donations over $100 will automatically include 2 tickets to our annual fundraiser in March, 2016!
We would like to thank those who have supported us and continue to support us in our effort to fight hunger.
