WOUNDED WEAR wrote -
Battles leave scars, but the survivors are not broken. Often the invisible wounds of war are overlooked. But the truth is, according to recent studies PTSD impacts 30% of Vietnam Veterans and anywhere from 11-20% of veterans that has served in recent wars. It’s going to take a coalition to get our wounded warriors the help the deserve for defending our freedoms that we enjoy everyday!
Giving Tuesday, December 1st, is the nationally recognized day of giving in the United States. This kicks off end of the year giving and is a great way to give back to those who have given so much for you and I! Help us expand our mission. The 2014 statistics were staggering. Here are a few: 49,993 veterans were identified as homeless, approximately 8,000 veterans were lost to suicide, and 573,000 were unemployed! We all can play a part in bringing these numbers down for those who fight for the freedoms we enjoy each day! It's going to take a coalition. This year our goal is to raise enough funds to be able to send 6 warriors to get PTSD treatment. The cost of this is $5,000 per warrior ($30,000 to send 6). Please take a minute and watch the video. Then consider giving $10 to help a wounded warrior begin the journey of rediscovering their hero within through pride, power, purpose, and peace! This is a great way to kick off the week of Veterans Day. Take a minute and give to those who have given so much for the freedoms we enjoy each day!
