BENEFITING: CENTER OF CONCERN
EVENT DATE: Dec 02, 2014
“Open the Door”
The Center of Concern has joined #GivingTuesday, an effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world.
Taking place December 2, 2014 – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.
The Center of Concern joined the #Givingtuesday campaign to help promote a community effort to support the services of the Center of Concern to open the door for seniors, disabled and the homeless. The Center of Concern’s Open the Door Campaign wants the community to help the Center Open the Door to seniors, the disabled and homeless in our community so we can provide the service that will Open the Door for those in need.
John McNabola, Executive Director of the Center of Concern said, “I’d like to open as many doors as possible this giving season to help provide services so many need to live with dignity and independence. We hope you will help us Open a Door on #GivingTuesday, December 2”.
