This #GivingTuesday we are asking: what does food do for us? It brings us joy, comfort, energy, and more. When we have full bellies, we can have full hearts - and our creative juices can unleash.
During a Project Istwa workshop in Haiti the kids work hard - learning how to use a digital camera, deciding how they want to tell their stories and use their voices through photography, planning an exhibition in their community, and so much more. A nutritious lunch fuels them to give the week their all and unlock their creative potential!
For as little as $6.25 can help us #FeedCreativity during our January 2014 workshops in Haiti:
- $6.25 gives an Istwa participant lunch for a day.
- $25 gives a participant lunch for a week.
- $218.75 gives all workshop participants lunch for a day.
Please help us reach our #GivingTuesday goal of $1,750 so we can #FeedCreativity for all our January participants!
About Project Istwa
Project Istwa is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that conducts seven-day photography workshops and youth development programs for young Haitians throughout Haiti. Grounded in the principles of photovoice, the purpose of Project Istwa is to allow participants to use photography and narrative to communicate what is important to them and how they see their world. Often visitors and others capture images of Haitian youth without any real interaction with their subject. Project Istwa gives its participants the opportunity to experience being on the other side of the camera. Through the world of photography they have the opportunity to tell their story through their eyes.
