My family will once again be supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) this year by walking in the JDRF One Walk, For a World Without Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). My daughter, Sarah, was diagnosed with T1D in 2000 when she was 4 years old. She just started college a few weeks ago! We would love to see the day when she doesn't have to give diabetes another thought!
Type 1 diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin - a hormone essential to the ability to get energy from food. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure currently.
JDRF is truly our best hope of finding a cure!
Please help us out, if you can!
Thanks so much for your support!
