My name is Aquia Holmes

Four years ago, Gladys Memorial school was established in Ghana, West Africa

At Ablekuma, a suburb of Accra
Looking for schools for my Autistic niece was none existing. it was the most frustrating and saddest experience as there were no schools equipped to handle disabled and challenged children.

Autism and other developmental disabilities is growing in Ghana but there is no help nor resources to help affected families.
faced with this challenge, we did not have any option than to home school my niece.
A house that was to be used as my private residence in Ghana, has been the interim school.
We have been amazed and overwhelmed at the number of enquires we receive every day.
But as a none profit, we do not have the capacity to accommodate these children, so unfortuantely we have to turn most away.
We currently have fifty students, mostly from very poor backgrounds and some with disabilities.
We need a better and appropriate facility to diagnose and treat these children
Total costs involved is estimated to be around $250,000
God knows I do not even have a fraction of that money.
But I know that miracles happen
I am therefore appealing for funds to help address this alarming situation.

I am glad to say that my niece has made tremendous improvement even with the limited resources available to us.
Her speach has greatly improoved, so is her social skills.
Please help me help these children who are full of hope and dreams for the future

And to help families find solace and answers to this disorder because it is a tough place to be.

The situation is very dire, please help

Thank you so much

Unfortunately, I cannot upload the video of the school with the students but it is available if you want to see it.
