GlamourGals is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to inspire and organize teens to provide ongoing complimentary beauty makeovers and companionship to elderly women living in senior homes.
GlamourGals was created out of founder Rachel Doyle’s desire to honor the memory of her grandmother and an extraordinary commitment she made to ensure no woman in a senior home feels alone. Rachel began the organization in 2000 as a high school junior. The idea of giving makeovers came out of the salons of her grandmother’s era, where women gathered for beauty treatments, and more importantly, to share stories with friends. GlamourGals is a way to recapture that salon experience for an older generation and introduce it to a new generation.
Glamour is more than just beauty. It’s intelligence, confidence, and determination. GlamourGals works to instill these traits in our teen leaders and reawaken them in the senior women we serve.
