BENEFITING: Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area
EVENT DATE: May 31, 2015
Glassdoor is participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area 2nd Annual Coasting for Kids’ Sake Walk-a-thon. We are walking the glorious San Francisco coastline from Land's End to Crissy Field to raise awareness and funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area. It costs $2500 for our professionally trained staff to create a match between a Big and a Little, and $1500 per year to maintain each match.
We hope to raise at least $500.
Once matched, 100% of Littles improve their grades, 96% are less likely to resort to violence to solve conflicts, 74% improve their future outlook, and almost 50% are less likely to use drugs than their peers.
For each $1 invested in an effective mentoring program, there is a social return on investment (SROI) of approximately $3.
Please help us reach our goal of $500 and help Big Brothers Big Sisters reach their goal of $250,000, enough to pay for 100 Littles to be matched. We also hope to find over 800 Big Brothers/Big Sisters out there! No one should have to wait to find a caring mentor.
