Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods Memorial
Organized by: Jason Collins
With new details emerging everyday about the 11 September 2012 attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the ensuing media circus that will be all over Fox News, CNN, and other news outlets for the next few months--we need to remember that the four of our country men died. Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty died risking their lives so that many more could be saved. The American people want and deserve the truth about what happened, unfortunately that will take some time and we, the American people, will most likely never know the real truth.
At the very least we, the American people, can do is honor them. We are sculpting a memorial to both Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty together- the story goes that when Glen arrived at the CIA annex in Benghazi, he asked where his friend Tyrone Woods was; Glen Doherty was told Tyrone Woods was on the rooftop manning a machine gun. Immediately he headed up to the rooftop and Tyrone and Glen, upon seeing each other- shared a short embrace, did a quick briefing, and went to their defensive positions. These two men, who were friends and died together, should be sculpted and immortalized together- truly brothers in arms forever. Two men who immortalized the warrior code and ethos, we should honor these heroic men in a fitting tribute that will last for generations to come-had they not given their lives, many future generations of families would not exist.
We need help funding this memorial. This memorial will be done under the supervision of renowned sculptor Greg Marra who sculpted the Chris Kyle Memorial Statue, which was given to the Kyle family and waiting unveiling in Arlington, Texas; the Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods Benghazi Memorial will employ veterans to help with the primary work. Every dollar that gets donated goes to the memorial and to keep the veterans working on this project employed.
The first ten (10) people to donate at least $1000 will get one (1) (ten inch total height) limited edition six inch solid pewter "SEAL Team 6 Desktop Memorial." The desktop memorial was originally hand sculpted out of clay by Greg Marra, rubber molded, and sent to a company here in the United States to be caste in pewter. To receive this, proof of donation is needed. Please email VeteranArtOrg@gmail.com any questions you might have about the memorial, gift item for donating $1000 or more, or any questions you might have regarding our programs for veterans.
