Megan has committed two summers to living out her faith at Lake Forest Ranch (LFR), a unique Christian camp in the middle of a poverty stricken area of Mississippi, home of the fourth poorest county in the nation. Luke and Carly joined her this summer during a special week to reach out to underpriviliged kids in this area.
LFR has set up scholarship funds to show God's love in a practical way by sending kids to camp as well as to send a well-deserving youth to college each year. They have very limited funds to do so, but they are stepping out in faith. Luke and I are going to help and YOU can too!
We are commiting to swim long distance as part of the Swim for Them event on August 29 at the Kingsport Aquatic Center. Our goal is to partner with LFR and raise over $1000 to assist in their camp and college scholarship efforts.
Will you help sponsor our swim and at the same time help LFR in a practical way? (Visit www.lakeforestranch.com for more info.)
(Luke's longest swim has been 1 mile. He is committing to try for 2 miles. I am recovering from a shoulder injury, but am committing to 3.1 miles (5K) and maybe more! - possible 10K??)
