"Dignity is something that everyone can agree on - believing that every human being has a right to lead a dignified life with an opportunity to fulfill one’s potential."
Co-Founders of Global Dignity
Since its founding in 2006, Global Dignity reaches 500,000 youth in over 50 countries by hosting ‘Dignity Days’ – workshops involving volunteer community role models where kids tell personal stories of dignity. We have found that it is quite powerful to vocalize moments where we identify our best selves and encourage others to do the same. This helps develop self-awareness, respect for others, and supportive communities. This year Global Dignity Day takes place on Wednesday 16 October.
Our goal is to take the organization to the next level by reaching 1,000,000 students. You can help us. Money raised will help to instill a new, positive, inclusive and interconnected sense of value in young people through increased organizational communications, marketing, and staffing.
Global Dignity is an independent, non-partisan, non-denominational, non-criticism initiative that promotes inspiration-based, dignity-centered leadership. The co-founders are HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, John Hope Bryant, and Pekka Himanen who met and have grown this initiative through the fellowship of Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum.
