BENEFITING: GLOBAL SELF-HELP INC
Sô-Ava is a lacrustine community in southern Benin of 80,000 people. There is absolutely no access to electricity. Due to this, inhabitants struggle to fulfill their daily needs. Often, lanterns are used as the only source of light. Petroleum must be burned in order for them to function and the fumes created are hazardous. Much too often, lanterns are the cause of detrimental fires. Without electricity, local entrepreneurs struggle to develop their businesses and the local economy cannot progress. Global Self-Help will improve the lives of thousands of people through the provision and the installation of 20 home solar systems and 100 solar lamps. The project will grant access to electricity in a local health center, a school, and for at least 750 people. With your donations, Global Self-Help can help alleviate the lack of security and economic difficulty experienced in Sô-Ava.
