Global Sight Project: Cuba
Organized by: Pete Crowley
EVENT DATE Jun 01, 2015
Next month a team of six individuals will embark on a humanitarian trip to Cuba, delivering visual aid equipment to the Cuban Schools for the Blind.
Our fundraiser is an effort to give visually impaired people in less developed nations a chance to learn to read and improve their quality of life. All proceeds raised in this fundraising effort will go towards the logistics of acquiring and delivering the visual aid equipment.
After the equipment has been delivered, two members of our team, blind athlete Peter Crowley Sr. and his son Peter Jr, will look to become the first people to kayak from Havana, Cuba to Key West, Florida. Our team will include the two captains of our escort boat, two paddlers, and a small film crew. Below is an article written about our trip last year.
All donations are very much appreciated, please share our story!
