Global Village Trip Return to Nicaragua 2015
Organized by: John Smith
EVENT DATE Mar 01, 2015
I would like to return to Nicaragua to continue serving and building simple decent and affordable housing. I first went to Nicaragua in March of 2013 and served in San Cayetano during my college spring break with the WMU Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter & Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity. While I was there I was able to work on several housing project and was able to experience the real need for housing and communication through human emotions. Despite my lack of the Spanish language I could still understand the excitement and the gratitude while working with the home partners and local volunteers. I can't think of a better way to spend my upcoming spring break then to give back. Habitat has given me a chance to give back something that was given to me at a young age, a safe place to live. I have committed to insure that people in need of simple decent affordable housing will receive it.
The funds raised will help to cover the cost of the Global Village program including: lodging, food, transportation on the trip, construction materials, and a donation to the Nicaragua Habitat Affiliate.
Any left over funds after the cost of the program will be donated to the Nicaragua Habitat Affilate.
So will you help me give back and make sure that someone in need will receive it?
