BENEFITING: Lwala Community Alliance, Inc.
Lwala's health center has grown immensely to become a hospital that provides to more than 15,000 patients. This year GlobeMed at Penn is supporting the construction of a new "connecting wing" to increase patient space, create separate areas for sick and well-children, and improve clinical care services. All of the money raised will go towards the construction of the new pharmacy within the "connecting wing." The new pharmacy will improve clinical care and create a more organized dispensing system. This will save many lives by efficiently treating conditions such as malaria, diarrhea, TB, and HIV, which inflict many people in this community.
