Go 1 Day for GOAL. On the 2013 International Day For Street Children (April 12th, 2013), GOAL invites you to stand in solidarity with street children and fast for 24 hours. By donating the money you would have spent on your meals or by getting friends and family to sponsor you for fasting, you will make a direct impact on the lives of street children through GOAL’s Children-at-Risk program in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

About GOAL’s Children-at-Risk Program
GOAL works with children who live and work on the streets of the capital, Addis Ababa, through the provision of a variety of services including sport and recreation, non-formal education, medical treatment and education, shower and clothes-washing facilities, life skills and livelihood training, and referral to other service providers for further medical or legal support.
Where children opt for family tracing and reunification, GOAL supports them through planning sessions, family tracing, clothes provision, family support packages, school materials and school registration fees, and a one year post-reunification follow up.
Vocational and Entrepreneurial Training
GOAL provides financial support and entrepreneurial training packages for youth who wish to set-up their own small businesses and households. We also facilitate different vocational training programs so that these children can secure job opportunities in trades such as leather works or general mechanics.
For youths beginning this training, GOAL provides household set-up materials, rent, living allowances, and psycho-social and health support.
Make a difference, be compassionate, and Go 1 Day for GOAL. All proceeds will go to GOAL’s program for At-Risk Children in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
*By fasting for GOAL, you are taking responsibility for your own health. If you have a pre-existing condition, you can still contribute by giving up just one favorite food item (e.g. coffee), or something other than food (e.g. TV). Please remember to stay hydrated while fasting.
