The Crisis Intervention Team, Inc. (CIT Inc.) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization in Albuquerque, NM that aims to promote public safety, destigmatization, reduce tragedies and enrich the lives of those affected by mental illness. Our work and programs are volunteer run and made possible by community support and donations.
The CIT inc. provides immediate assistance through first responders to help those in crisis. This crisis first approach can be a hotel room for the night, medication that is needed, food for the weekend, clean clothes and other needs that arise in the community. This immediate assistance can help an individual who is in a downward spiral regain their coping skills to engage in long term services.
Your community donations also help provide scholarships for public safety and health care personal to attend conferences and seminars on mental illnesses, destigmatization, crisis management and communication. This small step in education and awareness provides a ripple effect in the community. It promotes the need to excel and grow in first responders and healthcare professionals who often have first contact with individuals in crisis.
