BENEFITING: God's Love We Deliver
ORGANIZER: God's Love We Deliver
I’ve decided to run the NYC Marathon again this year. After entering the lottery for several years, I finally got in again. The last time I ran was in 2009; the first time was 22 years ago, in 1991. I just ran the Marathon Tune-Up last week in Central Park. I finished the 18 Miles in 2:55, which was a good time for me. That convinced me I should run the Marathon again.
Even though I don’t need to raise money for a charity to enter the Marathon this time, I thought it would be a good idea to raise money anyway. God’s Love We Deliver is a great charity that delivers meals to people with serious illnesses who cannot shop or cook for themselves. GLWD provides meals for children of the clients, as well. You can check out their website at https://www.glwd.org/
As you may be aware, God's Love is a charity that the Sugarman family has been involved with and has supported for many years. The whole family runs the Race to Deliver, a 4-Mile run in Central Park each November; we've been participating since Jessica was able to run the kid's race. Finally, this year, when Bari turns 16, she and Marilyn will volunteer their time there in the kitchen.
This is a big year for God's Love. After the tremendous work they did in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy getting meals to homebound individuals affected by the storm, they are now in the midst of an urgent expansion campaign, to meet the ever-growing needs of their clients for the future.
I hope that you will consider making a donation to support the worthwhile work that God's Love does. Thank you in advance for any support you can give.
