Starting on September 13th 2013, I propose to drive with 2 photographer buddies from the top of Vietnam to the bottom. Imagine 3 boys with image boxes riding on very small fire horses along the highways and byways of Vietnam, through rice fields, teetering around mountain cliffs, and avoiding the ire of your local water buffalo in scorching heat or pouring rain.
Starting in Ha Giang, the most northern town in the country and ending in Camau, the most southern city. The distance we will travel is over 2,400 km . All 3 of us are professional photographers. We will follow up with a couple of exhibitions and possibly a coffee table book.
The entertainment this odyssey will provide you should profit a charitable cause.
We decided to select East Meets West Foundation's SPELL program as the beneficiary for the money we raise.
SPELL is a scholarship program that provides long-term support for brilliant kids from disadvantaged backgrounds to get from middle school to high school graduation. The average cost to help one kid make it from 8th grade to high school graduation is US$1,500.
If you help us reach our goal, East Meets West will be able to offer scholarships for up to 20 kids in Vietnam (Thuy, Tien, Nga, Nhi, I don't know their names yet, but you get the picture).
Donate US$10, donate US$100 or donate US$1,000!!
