Students Helping to Keep Doors Open
Organized by: Catherine Ortega
We are four UCF students that have partnered with the the Greater Orlando chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). We are in need of monetary donations to reach our goal of $1000 in order to help NAMI keep its doors open to the public. Serious mental illnesses in Florida affect more than one million citizens. Those affected include family, friends, spouses, and teachers, among others. NAMI welcomes any and all that fit into either category, and not only educates, advocates, and supports them, but NAMI also works hard to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness. NAMI offers all of these services for free, and thus does experience some shortcomings in terms of funds. To help prevent any more of the much-needed chapters around Florida from closing their doors or ending important services, we have committed ourselves to setting a goal of $1000 to raise for this wonderful nonprofit organization. Please help us reach this goal to help NAMI grow and continue to flourish. Every little bit counts! Thank you.
