BENEFITING: New Covenant Missions, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Aug 16, 2015
We have a very generous partner who is willing to match every dollar you donate to send a team of Ethiopian medical professionals and Pastors into the Gondar Zone of Ethiopia for a one week Medical Mission at the end of August!
We have 2 weeks to raise the necessary funds to make this a reality!
YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Every dollar you donate is worth $2!
In Ethiopia there are 2.6 medical providers per 100,000 (in the US there are 250)! About 75% of the population suffers from some type of communicable disease and malnutrition, which are potentially preventable. In a joint partnership with the Meserete Kristos Church and the Evangelical Students Union of Ethiopia (EvaSUE) we are going to send a team of 35 Ethiopians comprised of surgeons, general practitioners, optometrists, dentists, counselors, missionaries, medical students and pastors to the towns of Debat, Wokin, and Debark in Northern Ethiopia to provide free healthcare and spiritual counseling for a period of one week to an estimated 2,800 people!
In addition to the free medical services, the team will organize training programs for community leaders, women and local youth to provide adequate education about primary health care, reproductive health and physical well-being. The team will also provide sandals, clothing and food for the poorest of the poor they find in the areas they serve.
In partnership with New Covenant Foundation Church Planters, the team will share the Gospel to the people through one on one evangelism. They will also distribute Gospel tracts and New Testament Bibles. During our last medical mission we saw 228 Ethiopians accept Jesus as Savior!
Our strongest desire for this mission is to see people receive salvation and begin the discipleship process with our Church Planters!
