Southern Poverty Law Center Fundraiser by Good Routes
Help us put UNITE on the map while we fundraise for SPLC. Good Route uses geo-based running maps and word of mouth to fundraise for the greater good.
About Southern Poverty Law Center
The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. SPLC uses litigation, education and other forms of advocacy to fight hate and bigotry. Now more than ever, it’s important to come together in a collaborative effort to support those who need it most. https://www.splcenter.org/about
About Good Routes
Good Routes is a collaborative effort that uses running routes to spell out messages when recorded on GPS watches or run tracking apps. When a runner completes one of our routes, they create a shareable image to help spread words of unity and support.
Using the NYC running community as a starting off point, we'll be running an 8.2-mile route in Manhattan on December 10th. The route curves up, down, and across our culturally rich city sidewalks, and spells out UNITE when viewed on run tracking apps. Each runner who completes the route will also have a shareable image to share online and show that they contributed to the cause. Participants of the group run will be contributing $5+ to join.
Join Us IRL!
NYC Runners & Running Crews:
We invite all runners, regardless of age, race, or ability to UNITE and share your efforts to send a message to the rest of the world that you care. To participate please contribute $5 (Larger contributions are encouraged and appreciated!) We're starting the suggested donation at $5 so anybody can participate. Help spread awareness by telling your friends and family what you're doing, and encourage them to donate & share our project. Not a runner? Walk the course or donate to show your support. Stay updated on our facebook page & instagram. Help us put UNITE on the map!
Non-NYC Runners & Running Crews:
Our dream is that this message will spread across the country, and even the world. We encourage individual runners and running community leaders from all locations to get in touch with us, and sync with our effort by creating your own UNITE running route in your area. We'll get you set up to link your efforts with our fundraiser, create a fb event page, and share your efforts with our followers. The best way to get in touch is through our facebook page or instagram. Let’s put UNITE on the MAP!
