BENEFITING: PAMOJA PROJECT
This is what happens to hundreds of thousands of teenagers in Tanzania. They are left with no chance at an education and little hope for the future.
In 2011, four local Tanzanians from the town of Moshi in the Kilimanjaro region decided to take action and Good Hope Support Organization was born. Their mission is: "To provide education, skills, knowledge, support, comfort, safety and love to children, orphans, and people infected or affected with HIV/AIDS." Since the beginning their doors have been open to any child who wants to learn, free of tuition.
Currently Good Hope relies on temporary volunteers to teach Math, English, Geography, and Civics every day to 15-30 students from the ages of 13-18. They have several goals, some of which are to:
-Open up a fabric store to generate consistent income ($350)
-Employ a permanent teacher for the students ($500/year)
-Sponsor several students and send them to secondary school ($500/student/year)
Education is the key to a bette future. Help Issa, 14, achieve his dream of becoming a pilot. Help Veronica, 15, become a lawyer and defend women's rights. Help Zuhura, 16, become a doctor and help the sick. Help David, 16, become a teacher for the next generation of Tanzanians. With every dollar you donate, know that you have made a difference in the futures of eager, bright, young Tanzanians.
