BENEFITING: Goodwill Industries of Greater New York, Inc.
Hey everyone - this year I plan on running the New York City Marathon as part of Team Goodwill NYNJ, working to fundraise for an organization that does a lot of great work to help some of the most disenfranchised members of our community, not just in Greater-NYC but around the country and the world. Through its various programs, Goodwill is able to train and put to work some of our most vulnerable neighbors - the disabled, veterans, immigrants, to name a few - and help them experience the satisfaction and accomplishment that accompanies a hard day's work. I know that I'm not alone in feeling that as important as a paycheck is the knowledge that we do day to day is productive and meaningful
I hope you'll join me in supporting Goodwill - any amount that you can donate to bring me closer to my fundraising goal would be extremely appreciated! Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about Goodwill, why I'm crazy enough to enjoy running, or just about anything else. Thanks in advance everyone!

At Goodwill NYNJ, we believe everyone deserves the chance to build a better life for themselves, their family, and their community. With our 70 programs across 30 sites in New York City, northern New Jersey, and the surrounding area, we work each day to make it possible for more than 80,000 people every year to do just that. Our programs empower individuals with disabilities, underemployed and unemployed individuals, veterans, seniors, immigrants and refugees, at-risk youth, low-income families, and anyone who may have a barrier to employment. The Goodwill Stores keep over 100 million pounds of usable goods out of landfills each year, reselling donated items to support our programs. We are proud to partner with the New York Road Runners, not only with Team Goodwill members running the race, but also with Goodwill staff and volunteers collecting nearly 200,000 pounds of clothing donated by runners as they shed layers during the race. Join us and make an impact - changing lives, empowering jobs, and helping the environment!
