BENEFITING: National Breast Cancer Foundation
EVENT DATE: Dec 07, 2013
As I began training for my first Ultra Marathon, it occurred to me that running 50 miles of trails with 15,000 feet of elevation will not be the biggest challenge I have faced this year. Early this year, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately it was caught early, treated successfully and so far there have been very few physical side effects. At the same time, this experience was very emotionally challenging for my mom, my family and for me personally. I would like to give back to the breast cancer community and the thousands of patients, doctors and researchers who came before my mom and carved a path to beat an affliction that impacts so many women. Please join me in donating to a cause that will help our mothers, wives, daughters, sisters and friends in their battles to beat breast cancer.
