My goal is to help raise awareness about epilepsy, the Athletes vs. Epilepsy program, and the Epilepsy Foundation. The Epilepsy Foundation is a national non-profit with more than 48 affiliated organizations throughout the United States and has led the fight against seizures since 1968. The Foundation is an unwavering ally for individuals and families impacted by epilepsy and seizures. The Foundation works to prevent, control and cure epilepsy through community services; public education; federal and local advocacy; and supporting research into new treatments and therapies. Athletes vs. Epilepsy is a nationwide program for athletes, coaches, volunteers and fans to raise awareness and funds to help the Epilepsy Foundation’s mission. The initiative strives to bring awareness in all sports through participation by athletes of all ages and skill levels as well as their supportive friends, family and fans. The program believes that anyone, regardless of athletic talent can help fundraise and raise awareness for the Epilepsy Foundation. 1 in 26 people develop epilepsy at some point in their lives. Joining Athletes vs. Epilepsy will help raise awareness about seizures and raise funds to accelerate the development of new therapies. I have personally watched this neurological disease impact the life of my brother and I find it a duty within myself to assist in any way that I can. I ask that you please assist me by donating what you can.
