I've been staring at this section for a few minutes now. I'm not sure why it's so hard for me to just write a small blurb about my fundraiser, what I'm doing, and whom I'm doing it for. They say that I should make this section compelling, and personal. That I should write something enticing, something captivating that'll encourage you, the reader, to donate to my cause. That's hard to do though, not because I'm not passionate about what I'm doing. But because this cause isn't just personal to me. It's something millions of people believe in.
I'm taking the time to raise awareness for the LGBTQ community by participating in the New York Front Runner's Pride Run and fundraising for Gotham Knights Rugby. Both the Gotham Knights Rugby Football Club and the New York Front Runners were founded on promoting equality and inclusiveness in sports by encouraging the LGBTQ community and their allies to come together, compete, and have fun. I myself am an ally within this community, and will be running along side thousands of others who believe that sexual preference and identity shouldn't matter, that we all deserve the same inalienable rights.
All the funds I raise will go towards the Gotham Knights Rugby Football Club. The money specifically will go towards supporting the club by paying for field time for practices and games, paying the ref's and physio, and whatever is left over will go towards sending our team to Amsterdam to compete in the 2018 Bingham Cup. Thank you to everyone that donates, or considers donating. Every little bit helps the club and the community we are apart of.
