BENEFITING: POTTER PARK ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY
Potter Park Zoo has big plans for some of our smaller residents. The zoo plans to expand the Seba’s short tailed bat exhibit. Home to 24 male bats, the plan is to triple the size of their exhibit – a move which will provide them with greater flying space, increased enrichment opportunities and offer a larger viewing area for bat lovers of all ages. While Seba’s short tailed bats are abundant in the wild, their presence at Potter Park Zoo allows us to educate our guests on the threats all bats currently face. We also love to talk about all the important work that bats do as seed dispersers and bug eaters. Did you know that one bat can eat 600-1000 mosquitos in an hour? That’s a lot of bugs and one of the reasons that bats are so important! Please support our efforts to improve this exhibit! Every penny donated will go directly to the creation of this important exhibit. Each donor will receive an official photograph of one of Potter Park Zoo's Seba's short tailed bats. Thank you!
