EVENT DATE: Oct 08, 2017
If you know me, even the slightest bit, you are probably aware that I am passionate about fitness. This wasn't always the case. Growing up, I always felt pressure to look a certain way, weigh a certain amount, etc. It was a depressing, calorie-lacking cycle until I found Performance 360 and was introduced to their strength training programming and incredible gym community.
The coaches and supportive gym members helped me shift my focus away from caring about what my scale said each morning to how much weight I could add to my barbell. I learned very quickly that there is nothing more empowering and inspiring than being surrounded by strong women.
Whether I'm running a half marathon, trying to hit a new lifting PR, or getting through a Crossfit workout, I am constantly reminded that I can achieve anything I put my mind to, especially with a supportive community around me.
All of these experiences have changed the way I look at things. They have helped me step away from conventional standards and gain confidence in all areas of my life.
I want to do whatever I can to empower girls and help create a world where they are confident and feel strong, both mentally and physically.
This is why I have decided to run the Chicago Marathon on behalf of Girls on the Run, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dream.
Please help me reach my goal of $1,500.00 by September 1st. I appreciate your support!
