BENEFITING: Girls on the Run - Chicago
ORGANIZER: Girls on the Run - Chicago
As many of you know, Ian and I are running our first marathon as a couple in Berlin on Sunday, September 25. We've enjoyed our hot, sweaty summer training in Chicago (full of long runs by the lake, track workouts, and lots of physical therapy) and are very excited for our upcoming adventure.
We'd like to make our race even more meaningful by using our miles as inspiration to give to a charity that is very close to our hearts, Girls on the Run Chicago. GOTRC is an after-school program for young girls, ages 8-13, that combines training for a 5k with important life lessons for young girls. We serve over 10,000 girls each year, more than half in underpriviledged areas of Chicago.
Of course no pressure to give, but if you are inclined to contribute, below are a few suggested donation amounts:
- $26.20 - 26.2 miles to finish in Berlin
- $52.40 - Dawson miles for us both to finish
- $157 - The cost of one girl to participate in a Girls on the Run season
Thanks so much for your support!
x Jen & Ian
