Most of you know I coach and work for the non-profit Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia where we teach girls in grades 3-8 about healthy lifestyles, good choices and self-esteem...all while training them to run. Such a blast!
I was honored to be on the first ever 12-person GOTR Nova Ragnar Relay team - we just finished our race and ROCKED IT!! Let's just say my idea of a hill has been forever redefined...whew! For those who don't know, Ragnar DC is an overnight running relay race that covers 200 miles between Cumberland, MD and Washington, DC on September 21-22. It was a mentally and physically challenging event but also one with a purpose - our team is raising money to help scholarship girls who can't afford to participate in Girls on the Run so they too can feel healthy and empowered.
Even though the race is over we are still accepting contributions so please consider taking a minute to make a tax deductable donation toward this worthwhile cause. Not comfortable with online donating...no worries - a check can be made out to GOTR Nova and in the memo section write "Ragnar Relay - Kim Copenhaver" and mail to: GOTR Nova; 10560 Main St (Suite 514); Fairfax, VA 22030
Thanks to my family, friends and coworkers who have supported me over the past few months as I trained for the Ragnar. To those who have already donated I thank you on behalf of all the girls in Northern Virginia!
