Grace's School Trip to France
Organized by: Grace DeBaun
During spring break of the 2016-2017 school year, my school, Shelbyville High School, is offering to take current French students to France for a 10-day educational visit. This visit will include historical sites such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Notre Dame de Paris, Eiffel Tower, Normandy D-day invasion sites, and the Louvre. We will stop in multiple cities, tour the beaches of Monaco, take rides on the bullet train, and experience of everyday life in France.
The trip costs over $4,500. In order for me to afford to go, I have applied for a job at the city pool this summer and will continue working as I do now with our local newspaper, Saturday Shelby. Before school is out this year, I also start training for a spot helping at a local women’s clothing store. Money earned from these jobs goes toward the trip to France that I so badly want. This trip will be a great experience for me both educationally and culturally. I have always wanted to travel to France and believe that this is the perfect opportunity.
My dad and step-mom are helping me, but I am trying very hard to ease the burden on them. I don’t know how much to ask for, but I am hoping you would be willing to sponsor my trip to France in some way. I greatly appreciate your consideration!
