Our mission is to “encourage communities in the care of their own.” As the low income elderly are the largest underserved demographic in Southwest Florida (Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties), all of our efforts are focused there.
Our primary objective is to help seniors “age in place” and avoid premature institutionalization. These elders lack the funds for home repairs and cannot hire help for cleaning, food preparation, hygiene assistance, transportation, etc. As they age, their need for assistance increases. Without our help, they will face premature institutionalization along with its consequences of decreased health, depression and a shorter life.
Grace Works Unlimited connects those with needs to individual and organizations who want to serve seniors. We do this by connecting individual volunteers with individual seniors, coordinating with companies and churches to provide a day of service to seniors, and through raising funds to pay for materials and the like.
Our uniqueness is that Grace Works Unlimited, Inc. is a source of “last resort.” We are made aware of needs in Southwest Florida through County case workers serving the elderly. These needs are already vetted and are brought to our attention because the case worker knows of no other program or government provision that can help. We are the only organization in Southwest Florida with the singular focus of helping lower-income seniors age with grace and dignity in their homes.
