Help Me Pay For Graduate School
Organized by: Denise Abad
Continuously furthering my education has been my priority since a very young age. I am the only one in my family to have attended and graduated from college. The promise of obtaining a graduate degree opens up so many doors for myself and my family. It will allow me to not only further the field that I seek to enter, but it will allow me to take advantage of all of the opportunities that my parents and grandparents were unable to experience. I am very proud to have been recently admitted to an Executive Masters of Public Administration program, starting this Fall. I have endlessly searched for scholarships to help me off set the high costs of tuition. Unfortunately, I have not able to secure any aid. I applied for financial aid and my application was denied on the grounds that I have full time employment. What it does not take into consideration, however, is that I am the head of household, and the sole provider for myself, my mother and my grandmother. Even though I appealed, they still denied me all forms of aid. Today, I received my tuition bill and all of the excitement I had from being accepted dwindled as I noticed that the amount was something I would not be able to afford. This is why I am reaching out to you today-- with hopes that you can please donate to my cause. Any amount helps! If you are unable to donate, please spread awareness. I would really appreciate any and all help. Thank you in advance.
